How to compare power stations

Capacity and inverter output answer different questions. Battery capacity in watt-hours estimates how much energy is stored; AC output in watts determines how large a load the inverter can operate at one time. A 4,000W inverter does not imply four hours of runtime at 1,000W, and a large battery can still be a poor fit if its inverter cannot start a motor or compressor.

For outage use, compare at least five dimensions together: usable energy, continuous and surge output, solar or AC recharge rate, expansion options, and physical weight. A lighter 1kWh station may be the better mobile tool, while a heavier 4kWh system may be the rational choice for refrigerator, furnace, pump or multi-day household backup.

Database methodology

  • Capacity: manufacturer-published nominal battery energy.
  • AC output: published continuous inverter output, not temporary boost marketing modes.
  • Solar input: maximum published solar-input wattage where available.
  • Weight: manufacturer-listed product weight.
  • Expansion: published compatible expansion capacity or battery ecosystem.

Specifications can change between model revisions and regional versions. The manufacturer source link beside each model is the final reference for a purchase or installation decision.
